For the
high resolution proteomic analysis, GBS provides an optimized chromatographic pre-fractionation (also used in the
RAMR protein profiling procedure), followed by
2DE of the isolated fractions. One of the advantages of this procedure is that it generates three 2DE gels per sample rather than one gel per sample. Because there is relatively little overlap between the different fractions, the enriching effects of the pre-fractionation allow greater sensitivity and resolution compared to standard 2DE and other pre-fractionation procedures. Also, if requested, customized chromatographic pre-fractionations can be developed through collaboration between the customer and GBS. High-resolution proteomic analysis is currently only available for water-soluble protein mixtures. Before contacting GBS, please visit the
sample preparation page for tips on maximizing the results of analysis.
