Proteome Analysis: RAMR™ Protein Profiling
GBS will perform Rapid Analysis Meso-Resolution (RAMR) protein profiling a novel proteomic approach developed by GBS that provide medium resolution protein profiling in timelines of less than half of that required for 2DE. The procedure is appropriate for water soluble protein mixtures, and entails rapidly processing the sample through two optimized chromatographic steps that result in 3 fractions which are then fractionated using SDS PAGE. The procedure typically resolves 120-150 proteins and is 4 to 5 times as sensitive as standard SDS PAGE in detecting changes in protein abundance. In addition, customized chromatographic prefractionations followed by SDS PAGE analysis capable of focused higher resolution is available upon request. It is an excellent choice for preliminary proteomic analysis to screen for fairly abundant proteins that show relatively strong differential expression. RAMR protein profiling is currently only available for water-soluble protein mixtures.
